Dan Bingham

Who's Dan Bingham?Who's Dan Bingham?

Hi everybody! My name's Dan and my favorite thing in the world is to make people laugh. In fact you could say it's what I'm best at, and trust me, I've tried just about everything else. My life has been a roller coaster ride of bizarre and hilarious events, stories which I feel the need to share with rooms filled with drinking strangers. Hopefully you will be one of these drinking strangers one day, and this site will let you know when I'll be performing in your neck of the woods. Unfortunately I can only spend so much time on stage, so if you're left craving more Bingham ridiculousness you can also visit my blog, or subscribe to my RSS feed where you'll be updated with new posts and shows. Hope you enjoy, cheers!

For the longest time, people thought there was something in the Ottawa water which made those Absolute Comedy crowds the best in Canada. It reached the point where comedy scouts wouldn’t accept your video demo if it had the now-infamous seafoam green curtains, purple walls and duck-billed platypus in the background. “Who cares if you […]

Nerd, Dork, or Geek? A Self-Analysis

Posted by on September 10, 2012

I often wonder whether I’m a nerd, a dork, or a geek, is a sentence you’ll never hear in a third world country.   They have more important things to worry about. Like sifting through their drinking water and wondering “Is that a worm, a slug, or a leech?” Meanwhile back here in everything-at-my-fingertips-land, I have […]

Watch my CTV COMEDY NOW special here!

Posted by on April 13, 2012

This was filmed in a Masonic Temple in Toronto back in October, where I performed over 50 minutes of material.  It has been edited down to 21 minutes here.  Rachel McAdams was sitting in the third row that night, you might not be able to recognize the back of her head, but if you pay […]

Captain Binghab vs. Moby Dick

Posted by on February 24, 2012

I started reading Moby Dick for the first time. Now I know that most comedians talk about sex, drugs, the funny accents their parents have.  Not me.  I’m here to talk about a 19th century book about whales.  I deal with the issues people.  Issues that get swept under the rug. Well I think it’s […]

4 Reasons Not to Watch Spy Kids 4

Posted by on August 18, 2011

This was a big year for superhero films.  We had Thor, Captain America, X-Men: First Class.  But I think when people look back on 2011 they will remember this as the year Spy Kids 4 came out.  When I first saw the preview for it in theaters I felt the same way I felt when […]

Adopt This! Wins Best Comedy Award

Posted by on August 3, 2011

My greatest fears have come true:  When you quit drinking booze for six months, you will acquire super powers. On January first of this year (I spilled coffee on my laptop keyboard and can no longer type the number one or exclamation points) I landed in Los Angeles California.  Here I would spend the next […]

A comedy club owner told me recently that I wasn’t “balls to the wall” enough, that he didn’t feel he “got to know who Dan Bingham was”.  I really hope he comes to Adopt This!, my one-man show which will be premiering this summer at the ST-AMBROISE MONTREAL FRINGE FESTIVAL from June 11th until the […]

The Night I Followed Akon

Posted by on August 23, 2010

So it’s Friday night, I’m standing in the sound booth at the Comedy Nest in Montreal, watching a really hilarious comic from Atlanta named Griff.  The room is packed, the audience is electric, and I’m on next. My heart is already pounding, I’m debating in my head whether I should try new material, but I’ve […]

Why the Gym is Bad for You

Posted by on August 19, 2010

So there I was in the gym locker room, awkwardly standing in my underwear, wondering if I had lost my mind.  “Where the hell are my pants?” The crime I had just finished my workout and was attempting to change out of my sweaty gym clothes. As I rummaged through my locker, the lockers next […]
