Who’s Dan Bingham?
Born and raised in Montreal, Dan’s been making people laugh since the day he was born. He looked up at the doctor and said “fffttrrgreeebbleblaa”. It wasn’t so much what he said, but how he said it. He was then given up for adoption.
Since the age of 15, his natural stage presence has earned him public speaking awards, lead roles in comedic plays, and has placed him in the hosting seat for many corporate events, festivals, and talent shows.
It would take more than a decade for him to choose standup comedy as a career, studying film, television, theater and scriptwriting along the way. In August of 2005 he was putting his communications degree to good use working as a bus boy at a Just for Laughs Festival VIP party when he spilled a tray of leftover beers all over himself. Finally realizing his true calling, he swore that he would be back the following year as a comedian. He took the stage for the first time two weeks later at a local open mic, where his friends were more nervous than he was: “What if he sucks? Who’s gonna tell him?” Luckily for everyone involved, he did the opposite of suck…um…you know what we mean.
In the last four years of comedy he’s made three consecutive appearances in the Just for Laughs Festival, one of which to represent Montreal in the Homegrown Competition, where the Hollywood Reporter advocated his consistent laugh-making ability. His style is absurd storytelling at its best, and his talent for spinning the ordinary into the ridiculous has crowds splitting their sides in every room he performs in.
